David Butler has been building golf clubs for nearly 65 years. He got started when he attended Ohio State University and met Jack Nicholas who inspired him to play golf. David got down to 8 handicap but his real passion with Golf was the technology of golf clubs and golf ball flight patterns.
By obtaining a Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a Masters degree in business administration, David started applying math and physics to the fitting and building of golf clubs. During this time he was also a chief engineer with the Chrysler corporation, was involved with NASA and ran a computer company in Silicon Valley.
In 2003, he worked with Golf Works to develop his own set of Golf clubs called “Butler Irons”. He then opened a Golf shop to sell his product. He used the Trackman launch monitor as a fitting tool and guickly ran out of Butler Irons.
For the next seven years, he partnered with a Japanese company by the name of Miura. Space Miura is the top of the golf club forged irons in the world. He was named Miura’s first worldwide distributor and was recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top 100 fitters in the world.
His customers came to his shop from all over the world. In 2013, David sold his business to California Custom Clubs who remain very successful with their on-line service. If you know exactly what you want, I highly recommend them.
However, if you do not know the exact specifications that you required to achieve your goals then I can help you.
I have developed a brand new unique process where I have deeply involved math and physics to determine a set of clubs for you.
